Production Associate / Food Processing Operator in Logansport, IN

NSC Staffing is hiring Production Associates for a food processing and manufacturing facility. This role supports production operations through product processing, machine operation, quality inspection, sanitation, packaging, palletizing, and shipping preparation in a cold production environment.

Candidates must be comfortable working in refrigerated conditions, performing repetitive physical labor, and handling raw food products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine production, assembly, inspection, testing, packaging, and shipping tasks
  • Load raw materials into production machinery including grinders, mixers, deboning, and freezing equipment
  • Operate machinery using control switches and monitor equipment for jams, blockages, or malfunctions
  • Inspect product to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Remove waste and dispose of materials properly during processing
  • Operate process hoses and assist with hand packing product into freezing/processing equipment
  • Remove frozen product blocks and stack onto pallets manually
  • Wrap, weigh, label, and package finished products according to specifications
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, machines, and floors using high pressure hoses and sanitation tools
  • Maintain food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Follow all PPE, safety, and attendance requirements
  • Support housekeeping and cleanliness of work areas
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities
  • Learn to operate forklifts and pallet jacks if certified
  • Assist with pallet inspection, labeling, and shipping preparation
  • Load and organize outgoing trailers
  • Store finished product in freezer according to guidelines
  • Conduct inventory counts and cycle counts
  • Receive incoming frozen materials and apply barcode labels
  • Operate automated or manual palletizing equipment
  • Complete production and inventory reports using computerized systems
  • Remove packaging/cardboard from frozen product
  • Sort and discard damaged pallets
  • Participate in safety and job training programs
Qualifications
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Meat/food processing experience preferred but not required
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to obtain forklift/pallet jack certification preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting of 30โ€“50 lbs
  • Occasional lifting of 50โ€“100 lbs
  • Ability to work in cold, wet, humid, and noisy environments
  • Ability to work around raw beef, chicken, fish, lamb, and similar materials
  • Must be able to work overtime and extended shifts as needed, including up to 6 days per week
