Entec Composite Machines is a machine fabricator that designs, develops and manufactures carbon fiber winding machinery and other specialty composites manufacturing equipment. Entec has over 50 years' experience designing and manufacturing filament winding machinery. We are located in an 80,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Salt Lake City, UT and currently employ approximately forty employees consisting of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Machinists, R&D Technicians, Sales and Customer Support and winding machine Service Technicians. Job Description
Entec Composite Machines currently seeks an Electrical Assembler to join our team and contribute to our projects' success through the timely fabrication and assembly of electrical systems.
The successful candidate will assemble, wire, build, and test machines and electrical equipment from schematics that satisfies customer specifications regarding process performance, safety, quality and applicable standards. The Electrical Assembler will report directly to the Electrical Systems Manager. Main responsibilities will include:
  • Build control panels (50%), machinery wiring (40%), facility maintenance (10%)
  • Run electrical troubleshooting around the facility e.g. lights, oven, filament winding machines and other standard shop equipment.
  • Identify parts and their location on the machine from the schematic, identify what wires need to stop at terminal strips, layout panels to minimize wiring, wire machines per schematics.
  • Use details and hand tools to put hole and cutouts in electrical cabinets.
  • Run conduits and mount hardware.
  • Turn on and test completed machines and calibrate equipment as needed.
  • Some mechanical tasks will include installing motors and control panels onto the machines.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites for installation, training, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Electronics
  • Min. 1 year applicable work experience is desired
  • Understanding of schematics, experience or training with electrical schematics and national electric codes
  • Be familiar with various hand tools and larger equipment (band saws, drill presses, etc.)
  • Experience in panel fabrication, soldering techniques, etc.
  • Solid problem solving and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Availability for occasional travel may be required to customer sites for installation, training, etc.
  • PLC programming skills are a plus
