Job description

  • Provide support to either Project Manager or mid-level/junior Engineering/Science personnel in the areas of scheduling, data gathering/limited analyses, database population, preparation of technical/project reports, test reports, and associated documentation
  • Participate in test or project events as assigned by Project Manager or Engineering supervisor
  • Report status and results
  • Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, soldering irons, and basic test equipment
  • Assemble drone frames, motors, wiring systems, and electronic components according to detailed instructions and schematics
  • Conduct functional tests, calibrations, and flight-readiness checks
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to mechanical assembly, electrical connections, and firmware configuration
  • Document assembly procedures, test results, and any deviations or repairs
  • Assist with prototype builds and iterative design improvements
  • Maintain clean, organized workspaces and follow safety standards in handling tools and electronic components
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Education/Training:
    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Associate's Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred

Experience:
    • 1+ years of experience in required task area
    • Experience with mechanical or electronic assembly (drone, RC, robotics, or similar preferred).
    • Familiarity with flight controller configuration software (e.g., Betaflight, ArduPilot, PX4).
    • Experience with 3D printing, CNC equipment, or composite materials.
    • Understanding of UAV components (motors, ESCs, flight controllers, GPS modules, batteries) is a plus
    • Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions

Security:
    • Must be a US citizen
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
  • Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
  • Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time

Salary:
The projected salary range for this position is $18 - $22 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
