Job description

Job Title: Automation Technician – ASRS / AMR Systems
Location: Libertyville, IL (Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term

We are looking for an Automation Technician with experience in ASRS (Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems) and AMR/AGV automation systems to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and daily operation of automated material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ASRS, AMRs/AGVs, conveyors, cranes, shuttles, and lifts.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC-related issues (Allen-Bradley/Siemens).
  • Respond to equipment alarms and minimize system downtime.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and startup of automation systems.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and follow safety procedures.
  • Work with Engineering, Operations, IT, and vendors to resolve system issues.
Required Skills
  • 3–7 years of experience in industrial automation or maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with ASRS, AMRs/AGVs, conveyors, or material handling systems.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred).
  • Knowledge of electrical systems (24VDC/480VAC), motors, sensors, drives, and industrial controls.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with WMS/WCS systems.
  • Knowledge of RFID, barcode scanners, and vision systems.
  • Basic PLC/HMI programming or troubleshooting.
