Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Asphalt Foreman to supervise and coordinate the daily activities of our paving crew. This hands-on leadership role ensures that asphalt paving projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, knowledge of asphalt paving processes, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while keeping the team aligned and productive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct all aspects of day-to-day paving crew operations.
  • Lead site setup, traffic control coordination, and crew safety briefings.
  • Ensure proper execution of work according to job specifications, blueprints, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate crew tasks, assign labor roles, and oversee asphalt placement and compaction.
  • Monitor project timelines and adjust as needed to meet schedules.
  • Operate and/or oversee use of paving equipment such as pavers, rollers, and compactors.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, truck drivers, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, crew timecards, and production reports.
  • Identify and resolve issues or conflicts on site promptly.
  • Uphold safety policies and ensure PPE and procedures are followed by all crew members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3+ years of asphalt paving experience.
  • Strong understanding of asphalt paving methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret job plans, grades, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • Able to work extended hours, weekends, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
  • Able to work long hours, including nights and weekends as required by the project.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area.
