Summary
The Asphalt Technician performs tasks involving physical labor at asphalt projects. The position may operate a variety of hand/power tools and heavy machinery to clean and prepare sites, lay asphalt or products, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers.
Job Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in asphalt projects; performs manual work in preparing surfaces for paving, repairing or sealing.
  • Works with team members to lay asphalt, equipment, sealers, and other products.
  • Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Performs materials handling and storage.
  • Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
  • Complies with all safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations
  • Performs other functions as assigned.
