Job description

Are you a compassionate, dependable, and self-motivated individual looking to make a meaningful difference in your community? Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking Residential Support Staff to join our dedicated teams in our 24/7 Residential Programs.
In this role, you'll support adults living with severe and persistent mental illness by helping create a safe, welcoming, and recovery-focused home environment where individuals can build independence, build life skills, and thrive.
Current Shift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, every other Wednesday 6pm - 6amWhat You'll Do
  • Create a safe, respectful, and supportive home environment
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Implement individualized, person-centered support plans
  • Encourage community involvement, recreational activities, and social connections
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with supervisors, clinicians, and fellow team members
  • Transport residents to appointments and community activities using your personal vehicle

Our ideal candidate:
  • Has experience working in residential services, behavioral health, or with individuals experiencing mental health challenges
  • Is calm under pressure, organized, and communicates effectively
  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting recovery and independence
  • Holds a valid driver's license and has reliable transportation
  • Is flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, overnights, or other assigned shifts

Some schedules include a rotation of asleep overnight shifts, depending on staffing needs and the level of support required at each residential site. All overnight hours receive an additional $2.50 per hour shift differential, providing an opportunity to earn more while supporting our residents.

Hiring rate is based on experience, education, and internal equity. Final compensation will be determined in accordance with NCSS policy and applicable laws.
Associate's Degree; or equivalent combination of related education, training and experience such as relevant certificate from college or technical school.
