Job description
- Install and commission AC and DC variable frequency drive (VFD) systems for industrial applications.
- Configure and program drive parameters to match motor characteristics and application requirements.
- Perform startup procedures, functional testing, and system validation.
- PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED: Verify proper integration of drives with PLCs, HMIs, and control systems.
- Program and configure drive control logic, communication settings, and protection parameters.
- Tune drives for optimal motor performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Support integration with industrial networks and automation platforms.
- Diagnose and resolve drive system faults, motor control issues, and performance problems.
- Perform field service, preventative maintenance, and repairs on installed drive systems.
- Support customers both remotely and onsite during troubleshooting and system recovery.
- Maintain accurate commissioning reports, parameter backups, and service documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to customers and internal teams regarding drive operation and maintenance.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience with a wide range of industrial applications.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as required (~40%, mostly local to Cincinnati).
