Job description

Position Description: The Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer will analyze, design, develop and test DSP algorithms that are implemented in hardware and software for the defense, space and other industries. Will work closely with highly qualified and experienced digital logic design and DSP engineers on internal and external teams. Will also work closely with verification, analog design, physical design and architecture teams. 
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and training to system architects to understand DSP and related functional requirements for all types of digital systems, sub-systems, and design blocks.
Work with architects, systems engineers and signal processing experts to understand and document all types of DSP systems, sub-systems and design blocks.
Writw detailed implementation plans and specifications for complex digital systems, sub-systems and design blocks.
Develop and model DSP algorithms using MATLAB and often Simulink
Convert floating-point MATLAB models into fixed-point implementations suitable for hardware
Translate algorithms into RTL using Verilog or VHDL
Optimize designs for area, power, and performance constraints
Perform bit-accurate verification between MATLAB models and RTL implementations
Create testbenches and run simulations to validate functionality
Work with FPGA prototyping and hardware validation
Collaborate with system architects, ASIC/FPGA engineers, and verification teams
Digital filters (FIR, IIR)FFT/IFFT; Multi-rate signal processing; Fixed-point arithmetic and quantization
Work within a large group of ASIC design engineers to deliver digital ASIC designs for FPGA and ASIC products
Additional duties as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in electrical or computer engineering.   Preferred focus on digital design and/or computer architecture.   
6+ years of experience as a DSP Engineer
Experienced in DSP capabilities for radar, GPS and EW systems
Experience with RTL coding language
Up to date with the latest technologies and trends in signal processing
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Clearance: This position requires a US government security clearance. As such, US citizenship is required.
