Asian Developer information

What are Asian Developers?

Asian Developers are software developers who originate from or are based in Asian countries, such as China, India, Japan, South Korea, and others. They work in various areas of software development, including web, mobile, and enterprise applications. Asian Developers contribute significantly to the global tech industry, often known for their strong technical skills and adaptability. They may work for local companies, international firms, or as freelancers, and many participate in remote and distributed teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Software Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Software Developer, you need strong programming skills, problem-solving abilities, and typically a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with programming languages (such as Java, Python, or JavaScript), version control systems like Git, and modern development frameworks is essential. Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability are standout soft skills in this role. These competencies are vital for creating efficient, maintainable software solutions and collaborating effectively within technical teams.

What is the difference between Asian Developer vs Web Developer?

AspectAsian DeveloperWeb Developer
CredentialsTypically holds degrees or certifications in software engineering, computer science, or related fieldsOften has similar degrees or certifications, with additional focus on web technologies
Work EnvironmentWorks in tech companies, outsourcing firms, or freelance projects, often in office or remote settingsWorks mainly on website and application development, in office or remote environments
Industry UsageCommonly employed in software development, outsourcing, and IT services across Asia and globallyPrimarily in digital, marketing, and tech industries worldwide

Asian Developers and Web Developers share many credentials and work environments, but Asian Developers often refer to developers based in Asia or working on outsourcing projects, while Web Developers focus specifically on website and web application creation. Both roles are integral to the tech industry, with overlapping skills but different regional and project focuses.

What are some common challenges Asian Developers may face when collaborating on international teams?

Asian Developers working on international teams may encounter challenges such as language barriers, differences in communication styles, and varying expectations regarding work hours due to time zone differences. Building effective cross-cultural communication skills is essential for smooth collaboration. Many organizations offer training and support to help bridge these gaps and foster a more inclusive team environment, which not only benefits project outcomes but also provides valuable professional growth opportunities.

Job description

Headquartered just north of Nashville, Tennessee, Shoals Technologies Group (Shoals) is a leading electrical balance of systems (EBOS) solar, energy storage, and eMobility solutions provider. Since its founding in 1996, the Company has introduced innovative technologies and systems solutions that allow its customers to substantially increase installation efficiency and safety while improving system performance and reliability. Shoals is a recognized leader in the renewable energy industry, deploying solutions on over 60 GW of solar systems globally.

The Company has manufacturing facilities in Tennessee & Alabama, with sales personnel in Spain and Australia servicing Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.

Shoals sells their solar products principally to engineering, procurement, and construction firms that build solar energy projects. • Write system integration and testing procedures based on user defined functional requirements.
  • Perform and support ongoing testing and updating of prototype electrical systems and subsystems.
  • Provide product cost analysis for quoting new product.
  • Support other engineers with design review and technical oversight.
  • Initiate continuous improvement projects

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Other:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or minimum 3 years in solar experience

  • Ability to use personal computer software such as Office 365 suite.
  • Extensive experience working with Schematic Capture software such as Altium, P-CAD, PADS and others
  • Practical experience with CAD software such as Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • Ability to solve difficult challenges with little direction/supervision
  • Understanding of AC (both single and three phase) and DC power systems.
  • Have a strong fundamental knowledge in renewable and off-grid power systems design and analysis.
  • Experience performing arc flash analysis surveys and coordinating studies
  • Ability to travel infrequently, as needed
