Position Overview
The Patient Access Representative (Admitting) serves as the first point of contact for patients and families, ensuring a welcoming, efficient, and accurate registration process. This role supports patient access, financial processes, and communication across departments to ensure a smooth care experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors promptly, courteously, and professionally
  • Register patients for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
  • Explain admission forms, patient rights, and required documentation
  • Collect co-pays, deposits, and perform cashiering functions
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations as needed
  • Direct patients to appropriate departments and coordinate with clinical staff
  • Answer and route incoming calls while providing accurate information
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
  • Support daily census reporting and departmental operations

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent - required
  • Experience: Previous patient registration or healthcare experience preferred
  • Knowledge: Medical terminology preferred
