Position Overview: We're hiring a Network Engineer to support the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. In this position you'll become part of technically diverse team to include but not limited to Help Desk Specialists, Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Database Professionals. Together this team provides IT Operations and Support to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) which is responsible for training Law Enforcement Professionals from over 90 different agencies. Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering, design, implementation, and maintenance tasks on the networking environment.
  • Assist with peer reviews on networking maintenances, projects, and initiatives.
  • Identify, review, and recommend security postures to peers and appropriate security teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
  • Install hardware such as routers, firewalls, wireless, and switches.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer
  • Understanding of engineering Cisco switching and routing
  • Understanding of engineering Aruba Networks switching
  • Strong understanding of IPv6, IPv4, and dual stacking
  • Strong understanding of OSPF routing protocol
  • Strong understanding of SDN and automation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills using the English language
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Prefer candidates with a bachelor's degree with an emphasis on Information Technology such as Network Administration and Engineering
  • Prefer Candidates with Networking Certification such as the CCNA (Cisco) and ACSA, ACSP, or ACSX (Aruba Networks) switching certificates
Security Qualifications:
  • No security clearance required; Secret Clearance Preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must pass a Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation
