About the Opportunity:
Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn seeks an enthusiastic and energetic Arts & Crafts Instructorwho has experience with developing and delivering arts and crafts activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to children's age and abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver an arts and crafts curriculum and lesson plans for Summer Camp for preschool and school age children
  • Maintain all arts and crafts equipment and ensure work areas are clean and organized before, during, and after sessions
  • Oversee campers during their activities and ensure campers are arriving and departing on time from different camp activities
  • Effectively manage the classroom and address camper behavior in a positive and professional manner
  • Communicate clearly and positively with campers, co-workers, and supervisors
  • These responsibilities are not comprehensive and are subject to change at the discretion of the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as an art instructor/teacher and developing lesson plans
  • Ability to communicate, supervise, and work with groups of children of all age and skill levels and provide necessary instruction
  • Demonstrated creative ability in a variety of art techniques
  • Capacity to supervise group work
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • Ability to be on your feet for multiple hours at a time and lift items up to 40 pounds
