Description

Position Overview:

The Arts & Crafts Leader at Davidson Academy will be part of the elementary Extended Care team and is responsible for providing engaging afterschool activities. The Arts & Crafts Leader upholds Davidson Academy's Christian values and educational standards while ensuring a productive and positive learning environment for students.

Responsibilities:

· Arrive at the school promptly and be prepared to teach assigned classes.

· Maintain classroom discipline by upholding the school's code of conduct and implementing effective classroom management.

· Foster a nurturing and Christ-centered learning environment that encourages student participation and spiritual growth.

· Supervise students during class time, transitions, snack time, and as assigned.

· Maintain accurate records of any relevant observations or incidents during the day.

· Protect the safety and well-being of students at all times, following school procedures and protocols.

· Treat all students with respect, fairness, and in a manner consistent with Christian principles.

· Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and classroom matters.

· Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Requirements:Requirements
  • A genuine love of children and the arts; music, mixed media, writing, crafting, etc.,..
  • Experience leading art and/or craft activities with children in an educational or Sunday School setting in media such as fiber arts, papermaking, crochet, and cross stitch.
  • Familiarity with Christian values and a commitment to upholding the school's religious principles.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with students, parents, and staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle various grade levels.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to support student learning and growth.
  • Works well independently and within a team.
  • Successful completion of the Tennessee Department of Education onboarding requirements; background checks, medical clearance and any required training or certifications. 18+ years old.
  • Adherence to the school's policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
  • Available Monday - Friday, 2:30 pm- 5:30 pm.
