Position Overview

Abacus Staffing is hiring skilled and entry-levelย Concrete Carvers / Scenic Artisansย to support high-end, detail-driven projects. This role focuses on creating artistic concrete finishes that meet client design expectations while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Level IV โ€“ Expertย (Includes Levels Iโ€“III duties)

  • Conduct regular site walks and plan project execution
  • Coordinate materials, tools, and staging requirements
  • Identify additional project needs and manage logistics
  • Oversee quality, production efficiency, and job progression

Level III โ€“ Advancedย (Includes Levels Iโ€“II duties)

  • Execute high-level artistic work with minimal supervision
  • Plan workflow, tools, materials, and jobsite setup independently
  • Monitor pump performance and material application
  • Lead and guide team members with clear direction
  • Train employees and provide corrective feedback
  • Maintain a clean, professional work environment
  • Represent the company professionally to clients

Level II โ€“ Intermediateย (Includes Level I duties)

  • Apply carving techniques and utilize a wide range of tools
  • Assist with pump/mixing operations and understand material composition
  • Produce quality artistic work with moderate supervision
  • Ensure proper material application, depth, and adhesion
  • Shape and scratch structure coats
  • Assist team and support operations during active shoots

Level I โ€“ Entry Level

  • Follow all company and jobsite safety policies and procedures
  • Work with materials including concrete, plaster, epoxy, foam, urethanes, and silicone
  • Assist with jobsite setup, cleanup, and hose management during operations
  • Follow artistic direction from team leads
  • Operate tools such as mason tools, hopper guns, mixers, pressure washers, and vacuums
  • Perform repetitive tasks efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Learn:
    • Concrete mixing and application techniques
    • Carving, shaping, and texturing methods
    • Epoxy mixing and application
    • Waterproofing systems and material handling

Qualifications

  • Experience in construction or ability to perform physically demanding work
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and workplace standards
  • Ability to learn and apply technical techniques and procedures
  • Dependable with strong time management skills
  • Positive attitude and teamwork mindset

Experience Requirements:

  • Level I: 1โ€“3 years

Schedule

  • Mondayโ€“Friday: 6:00 AM โ€“ 2:30 PM
    • 30-minute unpaid lunch
