Premier Restaurant amp; Entertainment Venue opening in 2026
Santa Monica, CA
THE VENUE
A one‑of‑a‑kind destination at the intersection of hospitality, performance, and storytelling, we are seeking an ARTISTIC DIRECTOR to help build this concept from the ground up.
Designed for discovery and connection, the venue will blend world‑class culinary and beverage programs with nightly artistic expression. Tucked within a landmark compound in Santa Monica, we will welcome guests into a new era of multidisciplinary dining and entertainment rooted in precision, artistry, and hospitality. This project will be unlike any other and will open in late 2026.
Operated by Aparium Hotel Group, this project represents a stand-alone, non-hotel concept for the company. We believe in the power of People, Place, and Character. Leveraging our passion for culinary excellence, extensive restaurant and bar expertise, and proven programming experience, we are looking for extraordinary individuals to help bring this singular venue to life. Hotel experience is not required; however, high‑volume independent restaurant experience is preferred.
THE ROLE
The Artistic Director will be responsible for sourcing, booking, and creatively directing a diverse array of performance artists. This role involves close collaboration with ownership and consultants to develop a daily run of show that aligns with pash’s values and mission. Additionally, the consultant will be tasked with creating and nurturing a community of local artists, providing them with a safe haven for artistic exploration and career growth within our “Arts Compound” and beyond. Having a strong network of contacts within the arts community, including spoken word artists, interpretive dancers, choreographers, musicians, and a vast array of avant garde performers and artists working in innovative mediums is highly desired.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance Sourcing and Booking:
  • Research, identify, and book (alongside our Creative Producer) a variety of innovative performance artists to create a dynamic, engaging and thought-provoking atmosphere.
  • Manage logistics related to performance scheduling, technical requirements, and, if necessary, artist accommodations.​
Community Building:
  • Cultivate a network of artists, fostering a sense of community and collaboration within the “Arts Compound”.
  • Organize workshops and networking events that provide artists with opportunities for growth, exposure, and collaboration.
Artist Support and Development:
  • Support ownership and other project consultants in the early phases of the project to inform the programmatic and buildout needs throughout the “Art’s Compound”
  • Create mentorship and development programs for artists; offering creative guidance and resources.
  • Provide a safe and inclusive environment for artists to experiment with innovative ideas and showcase their work.
  • Lead in developing an internal structure and operating budget to support the long-term sustainability of the arts program.
Daily Run of Show Development:
  • Collaborate with ownership, operator and other project consultants to design a daily schedule that lives within our unique programming concept.
  • Ensure the run of show is executed seamlessly, including sound and lighting checks, stage setup, and artist amp; operations briefing.
Performance Evaluation:
  • Alongside ownership, gather feedback from guests, artists, and staff to assess the effectiveness of performances and make data and emotionally-driven decisions for future programming.
Budget Management:
  • Lead the development and management of the performance arts budget, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Track expenses and revenue related to performances and events, providing regular reports to ownership.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE amp; ATTRIBUTES

  • Experience building partnerships with artists, institutions, brands, and community organizations.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to be visible and present across stage, studio, and social spaces.
  • Experience hiring, supervising, and collaborating with leadership, production, technical, and studio teams.
  • Established network within the performing and visual arts community to recruit cohort artists and collaborators..
