JOB DESCRIPTION
The Pre-press artist is responsible for launching orders to an OS team artist or manually setting up the art and making sure a proof is sent to the customer as needed. Artist needs to review the queries if applicable from our OS artists or any other department to continue the order's processing. Once order is approved, the artist will check the setup of production files, launch to the presses and print appropriate files to production along with tracking the order. Artist must communicate with other departments including CS and Production to take care of internal order needs such as fixing or adjusting files, virtuals, art checks or stitch counts. Assistance with overflow on marketing requests may be requested. Artist must have a mastery of Adobe Illustrator, a working knowledge of printing processes, and an understanding of die/item area limitations.
Summary/objective
To Setup, Check and Process Orders through a systematic procedure flow to be produced.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Adobe Creative Suite, emphasis on Illustrator.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Full understanding of Raster/Vector, CMYK/RGB, Spot/Process colors.
  • Ability to communicate and take minimal direction.
  • Self-starter who works independently.
  • Dependable, detail and team oriented.
  • Able to follow written/verbal instruction
  • Excellent communication and typing skills
  • Great multi-tasking skills
  • Able to ensure that orders are processed in a timely fashion
  • MacOS or PC Proficient
