Position Purposeย 

The Development and Donor Relations Associate serves as a key development team member and an active participant in expanding the base of philanthropic support for Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts (ASCPA) and Great American Songbook Foundation (GASF). This position is responsible for developing and executing multiple fundraising campaign, cultivation, and stewardship events.ย 


The successful candidate will help forge new relationships locally and nationwide to build and expand the individual donor bases for both organizations. The primary function of the Development and Donor Relations Associate is as an individual giving solicitor of broad-based and mid-level giving.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform the functions listed below in a satisfactory manner. The company will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions. ย 

  • Implement and lead individual giving campaigns as assigned by the Director of Individual Development. Duties include writing content, creative direction, developing communication plans, creating campaign calendars, social media strategies, requesting web page creation/updates, creating event registration processes, Asana requests, etc.
  • Manage a portfolio of 90-110 ASCPA broad-based and mid-level donors ($500-$2,499) and prospects, focusing on cultivation, solicitation, retention, and stewardship
  • Write 20-25 letters and/or emails annually including renewal, acknowledgement, triggered and cultivation communication pieces
  • Serve as signatory for broad based acknowledgement letters prepared by the Strategy Team and serve as direct communicator for broad-based donor gifts via phone
  • Create and implement a structure for acquisition campaigns to bring new donors to ASCPA and GASF as assigned by the Director of Individual Development and the Assistant Director of Individual Development for GASF. ย Work closely with Strategy Team for segmentation. ย Duties include writing content, creative direction, developing communication plans and calendars, creating registration processes, Asana requests, etc.
  • Utilize Tessitura software to track and engage donors and prospects
  • Actively use and manage the GiveSmart account and other software used by the department for stewardship and event registrations (text messaging as appropriate for stewardship, event reminders, event surveys, registration forms, etc.)
  • Maintain and monitor ASCPA Development webpages related to giving process, donor benefits, and stewardship
  • Coordinate and execute donor retention, recognition, and stewardship events, working closely with the Director of Individual Development and Events Team. ย Duties include working with Marketing Team for invitation creation, registration processes, event logistics and follow-up tracking of expenses, post-event surveys, etc.
  • Track campaign and event expenses for budgeting purposes
  • Collaborate with the Strategy Team who oversees broad-based and entry-level individual donor strategies for up-tiering existing donor relationships
  • Demonstrate motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the missions of ASCPA and GASFย 
  • Participate in annual budgeting cycle as a member of the development staff

Requirements


Education and Experienceย 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in fundraising, arts management, communications or business, preferred
  • Minimum of three years in a previous non-profit fundraising or for-profit business development position; seeking those with experience specifically in individual fundraising, broad-based giving, and event planning
  • Previous experience using CRM and/or fundraising platforms (i.e. Tessitura, Raiser's Edge, Sales Force, QTego etc.)

This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Workย 

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a full range of benefits including 401(k) and Paid Time Off. Typical days and hours at ASCPA are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Opportunity for a hybrid work schedule as approved by your supervisor and in accordance with the policy. Schedule flexibility is required as evening and weekend hours are expected on a regular basis.


Travel

Occasional local travel to meet donors and prospects is required as well as potential travel for professional development opportunities.
