Job description

Security Architect - Artificial Intelligence

We are seeking an experienced Artificial Intelligence Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure AI solutions across the enterprise. This role will focus on designing and assessing secure AI-based software solutions, providing secure infrastructure guidance for AI-based systems, identifying and mitigating risks associated with AI technologies, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in developing AI-based software solutions, secure cloud architecture, software architecture, and the ability to partner with business, engineering, and data science teams to create secure, scalable, and compliant AI solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a library of enterprise AI security architectures, best practices, policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with corporate security strategy and risk management objectives.
  • Assess emerging AI technologies and recommend secure design patterns and controls for AI/ML systems, including generative AI, LLMs, and Agentive AI.
  • Define secure reference architectures for integrating AI solutions with enterprise IT systems and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with software architects and data scientists to ensure security-by-design in AI solution development.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize AI-related risks, including data poisoning, model theft, prompt injection, adversarial machine learning, and model drift.
  • Perform threat modeling and security assessments of AI systems, models, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable AI regulations and frameworks, such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
  • Guide remediation efforts and design risk mitigation strategies for AI systems.
  • Partner with data governance teams to enforce data privacy and protection controls for training datasets and inference workloads.
  • Provide input into enterprise-wide AI governance, including model lifecycle management and responsible AI practices.
  • Act as a consultant to data science, cloud engineering, and development teams on secure AI solution design.
  • Provide training and guidance to security teams, software development teams, and stakeholders on AI security threats, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years focused on AI, ML, or data science systems.
  • Proven experience designing and securing enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Strong knowledge of AI security threats and attack vectors, including adversarial ML, model inversion, data poisoning, and prompt injection.
  • Experience with AI/ML platforms and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS SageMaker, Azure Machine Learning, AWS Bedrock, Claude, and OpenAI ChatGPT.
  • Deep understanding of data privacy, governance, and compliance requirements for AI systems.
  • Familiarity with LLM security, prompt engineering, and generative AI models.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Required to undergo and satisfactorily pass a fingerprint background check in accordance with CJIS requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, MIS, Data Science/Engineering or equivalent or comparable experience.
  • Desired Certification(s): CCSP, CISSP, CCSK, AWS Security Specialty, or Google Cloud AI Engineer.
State‑Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements

Salary will generally fall between $157,000 - $150,000 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if position is incentive eligible.
