The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University ofMaryland School of Medicine ranked among the top 5 in NIH researchfunding . We are seeking a dedicated Radiation Oncologist atthe Assistant/ Associate Professor level ( non-tenuretrack ) to join our dynamic team and serve in our vibrant academicbased practice at the University of Maryland Medical Center inBaltimore.

• Academic Opportunities : Include teaching in accreditedtraining programs, conducting advanced clinical and translationalresearch, practicing as a tumor site-specific expert with access tostate-of-the-art technologies like proton and hyperthermiatherapy.
• Clinical Trials Program : A major perk of this positionis the fully integrated clinical trials program between themain campus and seven community practice sites. • Practice Location : The main patient care facility atthe University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore,within the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive CancerCenter, is close to the main attractions of the Inner Harborwaterfront and professional sports stadiums.
• Medical Physics Expertise : Led by Dr. AmitSawant, Vice Chair of Physics Research, our Medical Physicsteam is robust, with over 30 faculty members, dosimetrists, andresidents. Research initiatives in Flash, tumor motion management,and inter-fraction image guidance are well-supported .
• Our Division of Translational Radiation Sciences : Ledby Dr. France Carrier, with a distinguished history of achievementand grant/contract funding in cellular responses to DNA damage,development of original preclinical models of radiation effects onnormal tissue, and medical countermeasures research.

• Competitive salary range: $238,250 - $560,945 based onexperience and rank.

• Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor orhigher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensuratewith selected candidate's experience.

The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based onfaculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not includeall components of the Radiation Oncology faculty compensationprogram or pay from participation in Radiation Oncology variablecompensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range statedherein.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximumsalaries for this position and is based on the University ofMaryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time ofposting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end ofthe salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selectedcandidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors,which may include the successful candidate's geographic location,skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions,education/training, and other factors, as reasonably determined bythe University.

The Department of Radiation Oncology offers exceptionalpatient care across eight locations, including the University ofMaryland Medical Center and the Maryland Proton Treatment Center.Our department's clinical program includes 14 linearaccelerators, a research linear accelerator, 6 multi-slice CTsimulators, a proton therapy center, and GammaPod, alongside avariety of advanced treatments such as SRS/SBRT,radiopharmaceuticals, and hyperthermia therapy.
