This application is open to Federal Work Study (FWS)-eligible students as well as non-FWS students. Fifty percent of the available positions are reserved for FWS students
Job Summary
The art, production, and design (APD) specialist, student employee oversees, trains, and assists facilities stakeholders on the use of specialized and technical equipment within the College of Arts and Humanities. Areas of specialization include proctoring facilities; assisting with broadcasts; and fabricating, repairing, and maintaining assets. Other applicable tasks include editing, layout, design, writing, and photography that may support Mane Media Productions, KCLC radio, the Art and Design Print Lab, and/or the MakerSpace.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators
The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Job Responsibilities
  • Proofreads to ensure circulated articles are error-free and use consistent style
  • Maintains strict adherence to style guidelines
  • Oversees, trains, and assists students on the day-to-day operation of specialized, technical, and dangerous equipment
  • Communicates tool and equipment issues with supervisor as appropriate
  • Monitors environmental compliance issues and assists with matters of workplace safety
  • Assists with regular maintenance and minor repairs of tools and equipment
  • Surveys, monitors, and documents facilities' conditions; oversees cleanliness and organization of facilities
  • Serves as a video production assistant for studio, sports, and field productions
  • Completes setup and breakdown of television and digital cinema equipment
  • Utilizes skills such as audio mixing, camera and graphics operations, and technical direction (KCLC and LUTV) to assist in the production of television and radio programs
  • Works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to create a positive and safe learning environment
  • Attends scheduled employee meetings
  • Post-produces media gathered from various sources
  • Organizes story- and production-related material and media, determines emphasis, and ensures style and formatting align with Lindenwood specifications and industry standards
  • Develops story ideas utilizing assigned leads and tips
  • Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
  • Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University's values

Required Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
  • Currently enrolled at Lindenwood University
  • Good academic and financial standing with the University
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience with a variety of art-related media and equipment
