Job description

Zero Overview
Zero is a creative studio founded in NYC. Our intention is to create an environment where multidisciplinary teams can solve problems for progressive and contemporary brands. We aim to constantly re-evaluate what it's like to work with a studio and provide a high degree of value and service to our clients and our team.
Our studio seeks an individual with a diverse background and the ability to succeed with a wide array of motivated and creative individuals. We believe that process is at the core of our success - and are continually seeking to evolve ours to get the most out of each engagement. The unique and complex problems that face our clients call for fresh and strategic thinkers.
Position Overview
As a Social Content Creator, you'll collaborate with the Social Media and Creative teams in strategic concepting and content creation across Zero's social media clients.
To be successful in this role, you are required to stay up to date on fast-moving trend cycles and culturally-relevant topics to understand what will resonate for brands and varied target audiences online. You are someone who has a natural affinity and passion for the internet and will be the person who consistently brings this awareness and perspective to the team at large. You also have An Eye - you are an inherent art director with strong attention to detail and feel for what is beautiful. You can match the specific energy of the brands you're creating for, whether you're iterating on trending videos and memes or making highly-stylized and polished content.
You'll work directly with teams across disciplines, including Accounts and Creative. Candidates are expected to have some foundation in social media strategy and proven expertise in content creation. In this role, your primary responsibility is to create the most effective work possible in an enjoyable, engaging, and positive environment. Your core responsibility will be to capture, edit, and optimize photo and video content captured via iPhone for social platforms, primarily Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts - this is not a design- or high-fidelity videography-focused position.
You'll be expected to approach the day-to-day with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset. We believe the traits of kindness, respect, and empathy are vital to the role, and a high degree of collaboration and entrepreneurial thinking will be keys to success.

Skills & Competencies
  • An affinity for being online and a passion for the internet and cultural trends
  • Capture, edit, and optimize photo and video content captured via iPhone for social platforms, primarily Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts

  • Keen eye for detail and a high degree of familiarity with internet trends
  • Ability to think critically to apply art direction and styling to content
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, self-starter approach with excellent time management skills who takes initiative and owns responsibility for tasks

Nice-to-Haves
  • Ability to travel to shoot UGC content outside of the 4 walls of the Zero studio (i.e. stop into retailers like Target or Walmart, visit client retail locations, capture content in public areas, etc.)
  • Comfort shooting lifestyle-forward content in your home space
  • Food and/or clothing styling skills
  • DSLR + Video shooting capabilities
  • Video-editing skills outside of social platforms (i.e. Adobe Premiere)

Experience
