Job description

Computerized Tomography (C.T.) Technologist

The Computerized Tomography (C.T.) Technologist, with independent judgment and initiative, performs prescribed CT scan procedures and exams on patients and coordinates patient flow and the activities of the CT Scanner. Ensures that ALARA principle is followed for all exams. Performs related duties as assigned. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide CT services appropriate to the age of the patients. Cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical. Must be competent to obtain images and perform CT scan studies with adults and geriatric patients as well as children. Responsible for adjusting protocols as necessary and for communicating instructions appropriate to the specific needs of the patient. Must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect in the adult, geriatric, or pediatric patient. The Computerized Tomography (C.T.) Technologist meets hospital continuing education requirements by enhancing professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops, as well as association groups.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist in the State of California in good standing.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Must have ARRT in Radiology, prefer CT ARRT.
  • Six months to one-year prior experience as a CT Technologist preferred.

Pay / Benefits: Estimated pay is based on qualifications (including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, and licensure where applicable). Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, basic life and AD&D, optional supplemental life (employee, spouse, and/or child coverage), flexible spending accounts (medical and dependent care), 403b retirement with dollar for dollar match up to 5%, paid time off, and more available depending on employment status.
