Business Applications Associate (Real Estate)
Equity Asset Management | Business Applications
Reports To: VP, Business Applications (Debt & Equity)
Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite. El Segundo, Century City, San Francisco, Atlanta, or New York. Preference for El Segundo or Century City (Los Angeles) or Atlanta.
Compensation: $110,000 to $130,000 base + 20% target bonus

Company Summary

Our client is an established commercial real estate investment manager that has provided debt and equity capital for middle-market real estate across the United States for more than 25 years. The firm invests across the capital stack, from joint venture equity to senior and mezzanine debt, on behalf of institutional investors. It runs a lean, collaborative team where people own their work and have direct access to senior leadership.

Position Summary

This role owns the firm's equity asset management technology stack, reporting directly to the VP of Business Applications. The person administers the equity applications, leads hands-on data ingestion and validation, and plays a central role in evaluating and implementing a new equity asset management platform. It suits a technically strong systems or business applications professional who is comfortable owning platforms with limited oversight once direction is set.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day administration, configuration, and support of the equity application stack (Yardi, Argus, Chatham, and related systems), including user accounts, roles, and permissions
  • Help lead the evaluation and implementation of a new equity asset management platform: defining requirements, assessing vendors, and supporting selection, UAT, data validation, and rollout
  • Serve as the point of contact for the pro forma extraction and asset-level data initiatives, managing data flows with vendors and internal users
  • Ingest, normalize, and validate sponsor-provided actuals against source materials, flagging and resolving discrepancies
  • Extract and interpret third-party property management system data to support equity workflows such as budgets, actuals, and quarterly reporting
  • Partner with asset management stakeholders to translate business needs into requirements and maintain process flows, data mappings, and user guides

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years in a business analyst, systems, or technology role; system administration experience strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Yardi or another major real estate property management system (MRI, RealPage, or Entrata); functional fluency required, administration preferred
  • Experience with Argus preferred
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and reporting when needed; ETL or API exposure is a strong differentiator
  • Experience supporting a software evaluation or platform implementation preferred
  • Exposure to equity asset management workflows (budgets, actuals, quarterly reporting, asset surveillance) is a plus, not required
  • Strong communicator who can translate between business and technical teams; highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable owning platforms with limited oversight; bachelor's degree
