Position Title: Security Officer
Location: Glassboro, NJ

Shift Available: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
Job Description
As a Security Officer for luxury off-campus apartments catering to college students, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents and visitors. Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks ranging from patrolling the premises to addressing security concerns and assisting residents as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols across the property, monitoring all nine buildings to ensure the safety and security of residents and facilities
- Be vigilant for any suspicious activities, unauthorized individuals, or potential security breaches
- Utilize surveillance equipment to monitor activities within common ares and sensitive locations
- Respond promptly to any security alerts or incidents captured on CCTV
- Compile detailed shift reports outlining any incidents, observations, or security-related issues encountered during patrols or through CCTV monitoring
- Communicate effectively with management regarding security concerns, providing timely updates and recommendations for improvement
- Take precise and accurate messages for incoming phone calls, ensuring all relevant information is documented and relayed promptly to the appropriate recipients
- Serve as a point of contact for emergency services personnel, providing assistance and coordinating responses during critical situations
- Assist students and tenants who may be locked out of their apartments, ensuring timely access while verifying their identity and residency
- Respond to and resolve noise disturbances and smoking violations in accordance with property policies and local regulations
- Handle complaints from residents professionally and diplomatically, seeking peaceful resolutions whenever possible
Qualifications
- NJ SORA License
- Prior experience in security or related field preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
- Customer service mindset with a focus on assisting residents and visitors courteously and efficiently
