Job Summary

Stoner's Pizza Joint is seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Area Manager to oversee the operations of multiple restaurants within an assigned area. In this role, you'll lead restaurant teams, drive sales and profitability, protect brand standards, and ensure every location runs safely, efficiently, and with a consistently great guest experience.

The Area Manager is a crucial link between restaurant-level leadership and company management. You'll bring strong leadership and communication, use operational and financial data to guide decisions, and develop General Managers and team leaders to help them succeed. If you love fast-paced environments, take pride in coaching others, and enjoy turning performance goals into real results, we'd love to meet you.

Area Manager Responsibilities

Lead & Develop Management Teams

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to General Managers and restaurant management teams.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop managers to strengthen operational leadership and people skills.

  • Set clear expectations, measurable goals, and performance standards for each location.

  • Conduct regular restaurant visits, observations, and management meetings.

  • Evaluate performance, deliver constructive feedback, and ensure consistent follow-through on improvement plans.

  • Recognize high-performing talent and help prepare employees for future leadership opportunities.

  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and retention efforts at the management level.

  • Hold General Managers accountable for both operational execution and financial performance.

Drive Sales & Profitability

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase sales and improve profitability across assigned locations.

  • Monitor performance trends and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Review P&L statements, labor metrics, and other financial reports to pinpoint areas for improvement.

  • Control costs by monitoring food cost, labor cost, inventory, waste, and other operating expenses.

  • Ensure locations are properly staffed and scheduling practices match business needs.

  • Partner with General Managers to set and achieve targets for revenue, profitability, and operational KPIs.

  • Plan and lead action steps for underperforming restaurants, tracking progress until goals are met.

Maintain Operational Excellence

  • Ensure every restaurant consistently meets Stoner's Pizza Joint standards for quality, cleanliness, speed of service, and guest satisfaction.

  • Perform operational evaluations through scheduled visits and frequent observation.

  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and brand standards are followed consistently across the area.

  • Support best practices in inventory management, ordering, food preparation, and waste reduction.

  • Identify operational challenges early and implement practical solutions with the local team.

  • Ensure restaurants are prepared for inspections, audits, and review processes.

Customer Experience

  • Champion a guest-first culture across all locations.

  • Monitor customer feedback and support management teams in resolving concerns professionally and quickly.

  • Ensure service standards are consistently delivered and continuously improved.

  • Help strengthen the brand reputation within each local community.

  • Support teams in handling escalated issues with empathy, accountability, and clear communication.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure restaurants comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including labor, health, food safety, and workplace safety requirements.

  • Ensure managers and team members follow company policies and required procedures.

  • Monitor sanitation and food safety practices and address gaps through corrective action.

  • Respond promptly to compliance issues and support the development of effective improvement plans.

  • Promote a workplace culture focused on safety, professionalism, and accountability.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and review operational and financial reporting to track progress and performance.

  • Communicate restaurant results, challenges, and opportunities clearly to company leadership.

  • Provide regular updates on sales, labor, food costs, staffing, customer feedback, and operational performance.

  • Maintain strong communication and partnership with General Managers and internal stakeholders.

  • Follow up on action plans and ensure improvements are completed and sustained.

  • Support company initiatives, promotions, and operational programs at the restaurant level.

What We're Looking For

The ideal Area Manager is:

  • An experienced restaurant leader with a strong understanding of day-to-day operations.

  • A proven coach who can lead and develop multiple management teams.

  • Highly results-driven, focused on sales growth, profitability, and consistent execution.

  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities across several locations.

  • A strong communicator who builds trust and drives accountability across teams.

  • Comfortable reviewing and interpreting data, including sales trends, labor targets, and cost drivers.

  • A problem-solver who makes sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Committed to guest experience, quality standards, and employee development.

  • Willing to travel between assigned restaurants as needed to support teams.

  • Professional, dependable, and dedicated to helping the company and its people grow.

Success in This Role

Success as an Area Manager at Stoner's Pizza Joint means building strong leaders, keeping operations consistent across locations, improving key performance metrics, and creating an atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and teams feel supported. You'll help restaurants perform at their best-through coaching, clear standards, and focused execution.

You don't just manage restaurants-you develop leaders, solve problems, improve performance, and help every location reach its full potential.

Additional Responsibilities (Leadership & Performance Execution)
  • Achieve business goals and revenue targets by overseeing execution and performance planning.

  • Recruit, train, and support General Managers, including regular performance evaluations.

  • Support business planning for local growth, including marketing and promotional initiatives.

  • Manage internal and external relationships as needed to support restaurant performance.

  • Ensure products and services meet regulatory, quality, and brand requirements.

  • Escalate and resolve complex guest issues, incident reports, and operational concerns appropriately.

  • Identify service and product opportunities that increase sales potential and guest satisfaction.

  • Drive performance through recognition, reviews, people management, and appropriate follow-up.
