Position Description:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a pivotal role in seeking new business opportunities to drive the company's revenue growth in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The BDM will generate leads through networking, events and cold outreach as well as managing inbound leads generated by marketing. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that thrives with the opportunity to exceed established sales and activity targets. Lead Generation
  • Identify and prospect for leads within our Target Client Profile using various outreach methods — cold calling, email sequences, LinkedIn and other social networking sites
  • Active engagement in networking and industry events
  • Identify and actively participate in industry associations to generate leads
Opportunity Management
  • Successfully manage sales opportunities from initial contact through close
  • Manage inbound leads from website or paid lead generation efforts, qualifying and reaching out
  • Qualify prospects, gather business requirements, initiate technical assessment, oversee and validate proposal generated by team, present and bring opportunities to close
  • Introduce and leverage leadership and service team as appropriate
  • Schedule kick-off and onboarding to ensure smooth transition to services team
CRM Management
  • Record all interactions and opportunity management steps in HubSpot
  • Document all objectives (Rocks) within Small Improvements (our employee engagement system)
Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to articulate key business objections and basic technical information to facilitate translating technical solutions to non-technical clients in a way they can fully understand
  • Basic understanding of IT hardware and network systems
  • Inherent curiosity about client businesses, technology and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain accurate sales pipelines to enable forecasting
  • Prospecting experience such as cold calling, social selling, networking and other activities to generate first meetings with new prospects
  • Demonstrable ability to identify and work directly with the C-suite and key executive sponsors
  • Proficiency using a Sales CRM (preferably HubSpot)
  • Strong presentation and closing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player, collaborative and a willingness to learn with a positive attitude
  • An understanding of the technology space is preferred
Candidate Should Possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Technology or Operations required
  • 3+ years of outside B2B sales experience required
  • Experience selling to SMB professional services, engineering, manufacturing, oil & gas preferred
  • Direct experience selling IT services, technology, and/or hardware is strongly preferred
