We are seeking an ambitious Senior Project Manager to join our New York office.


The Senior Project Manager takes the lead role supervising the staff, establishing the workflow and acting as a consistent point of client contact for projects. This person has the ability to work independently on large and complex projects to establish project schedules and budgets and coordinate the efforts of both internal and external members of the team. The Senior Project Manager has a unique talent and ability to develop client relationships and interact with clients and employees to resolve complex issues and facilitate difficult conversations by balancing all aspects of office and project concerns. This position is responsible for understanding the capabilities of teammates and aligning those abilities with efforts to best meet project goals. The understanding of a wide variety of construction industry related issues and the ability to manage project resources to provide a high level of client satisfaction through quality design and cost consciousness with efficiency is essential.


Essential Functions:

This role provides expert leadership in:

  • Project Delivery: Progressing project work from schematic design through construction documentation, ensuring design intent and technical quality are maintained
  • Quality Standards: Promoting project quality through adherence to and the ongoing improvement of the company standards
  • Cost Consciousness: Analyzing construction cost estimates for alignment of design intent and approved budgets and develops alternatives for controlling project costs
  • Profitability: Effectively managing fees, resources, and the project delivery schedule to ensure the financial health of a project
  • Documentation: Guiding the modeling and drawings used to accurately deliver projects
  • Construction Administration: Managing the construction phase through responsive coordination with the builder to maintain design intent and contractual requirements

Demonstrates advanced skills in:

  • Sustainability: Conceiving projects with rigor to resolve human and environmental health impacts and meet sustainability goals
  • Building Technology: Applying an understanding of construction methods to building design
  • Codes and Accessibility: Ensuring project designs and construction documents fully comply with applicable codes and accessibility standards
  • Programming: Progressing exploratory discussions to capture and align quantitative and functional requirements with aspirational and experiential goals
