Job description

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. (In New Century, KS, Lebanon, TN, and Rockford, IL - we do business as: Olathe Millwork, Warren Brothers, River City Millwork respectfully.)
Position: We are growing! We are looking for an Outside Sales Representative, responsible for growing business and selling our product line in a specific territory.

Your Day-to-Day: to excel in this role, you will need to...
  • Sell our products to current customers in the region through a focus on customer service. In charge of sales throughout the territory, you will be rewarded based on your ability to manage sales throughout the region and customer base.
  • Grow sales by increasing our customer base to new customers - as an Outside Sales Representative you will be expected to call on potential new customers throughout the territory.
  • Communicate the needs of the customer with the branch to better ensure optimized product mix and increase future sales.
  • Communicate with inside sales staff to ensure a coordinated and synchronized sales effort. Our Outside Sales Representatives lead the conversation and develop our business through sales growth and customer service.
  • Accompany vendors' sales representatives as needed, calling on appropriate customer accounts to satisfy vendor concerns.

  • You have a minimum of 6-10 years sales experience, ideally in an outside sales or territory sales representative role, and ideally in the construction sales industry or building materials industry.
  • You have knowledge of millwork and understand 2-step distribution.
  • You can travel as needed throughout the territory.
  • You have excellent customer service skills, with knowledge of DMSi Agility software a plus.
  • As you will be driving a company vehicle, we consider this a Safety Sensitive position, subject to routine drug screening.
