Job description

Industrial Design LLC is a growing full-service AE Firm in the Chandler Arizona area. We primarily serve the Semiconductor Industry in the Chandler region; our larger client base includes customers across the metropolitan Phoenix area.

This job opportunity is for the dedicated professional designers who are looking to join a growing, vibrant Architectural team; you will work alongside our stamping Registered Architects, AITs, Certified Interior Designer, Architectural Designers, BIM Modelers, Registered Engineers (Structural, Mechanical, Chemical, and Electrical), and field staff as we expand our company to take on new challenges.

At Industrial Design, the Architectural Designer IV will:

  • Work closely with designer, Engineers, Architects and technical vendors to develop design deliverables such as What-ifs (conceptual designs), Positioning Reports, Programming Reports, Construction Documents and specifications. Deliverables can include AutoCAD drawings, Revit drawings, PDFs, PowerPoint presentations and Excel documents.
  • Make preliminary code-based assessments of design conditions and coordinate with our Architect to ensure design is compliant with building codes
  • Coordinate architectural models and drawings with the other design disciplines
  • Field validate / As-build existing conditions and integrate findings into the Architectural design background drawings
  • Review Submittals and respond to RFIs.
  • Participate in design review meetings with your design lead and key stakeholders
  • Interface with other disciplines to drive open design issues to closer
  • Perform drafting duties in support of his/her design scopes.
  • Publish documents (CAD to PDFs) & manage the document / file structure throughout the design process

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Pride in one’s work, integrity in one’s character
  • The ability to be organized and balance multiple projects in various stages of completion simultaneously
  • The ability to clearly communicate design concepts with team members
  • 3+ years’ experience in Design & Drafting
  • Experience working in the semiconductor industry
  • Experience with industrial building and facilities design
  • Experience with equipment hook-up design
  • Proficiency in Revit (required)
  • Great aptitude for use of computer system, CAD and office software
  • Education in architecture is a plus, experience may be substituted for education
  • AIT or working towards AIT is a plus
  • An understanding of what codes and specs are and how they apply to design
  • Experience performing field validation inside of an ISO 5 / ISO 8 cleanroom environment is a plus
