The person in this role will assist the Director of Enterprise Architect in managing Alamo Group's information and technology solution architecture. The IT Manufacturing Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering integrated technology solutions that support the digital transformation of an equipment manufacturing enterprise.
This role bridges business needs and technical execution, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in manufacturing systems, cloud platforms, and modern integration strategies.
The IT Manufacturing Solutions Architect will:
  1. Analyze and evaluate the current system architecture to identify areas for improvement.
  2. Design end-to-end IT solutions that align with business goals and enterprise architecture standards
  3. Collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and development teams to translate requirements into technical designs
  4. Lead solution design for ERP, MES, CRM, PLM, and other core manufacturing systems
  5. Develop integration strategies across cloud, on-premises, and edge environments
  6. Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance requirements
  7. Create and maintain solution architecture documentation, including diagrams, data flows, and interface specifications
  8. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate
  9. Support project delivery by guiding development teams and validating technical implementation
  10. Participate in architecture governance and solution review boards
  11. Contribute to the development of reusable architecture patterns and best practice
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have/be:
  1. Strong understanding of solution architecture principles and design patterns
  2. Experience with ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), MES, PLM, and CRM systems in manufacturing environments
  3. Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid architectures
  4. Familiarity with integration technologies (APIs, ESB, microservices, ETL tools)
  5. Knowledge of data modeling, analytics platforms, and master data management
  6. Ability to assess and mitigate risks related to performance, security, and scalability
  7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams

Primarily in an office environment with frequent sitting for extended periods of time with occasional visits to manufacturing environments. May be required to travel 10% on an annual basis
