Position: Project Specialist I

Salaried: Exempt Position

Reports to: Studio Partner


Summary of Position:

The Project Specialist I is an integral team member of the assigned studio, working on a variety of projects and serving on various project teams. Project Specialist I is a support position for the Project Manager and/or Project Architect in the production of construction documents and drawings. Guidance and supervision are provided by the Project Manager and/or Project Architect on work assignments related to specific projects and providing learning opportunities. The Studio Partner provides overall direction to the work of the project teams and the Project Specialist I.

Responsibilities : (others may be assigned)


COMMUNICATION

- Communicate as directed with internal and external team members on task assignments


COLLABORATION

- Assist in the conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation using Revit/BIM processes according to direction provided by Project Manager, Architect and/or Project Architect

- Assist in the preparation of project presentations as directed

Contact consultants and engineers to advance the work of the project, as requested by Project Manager and/or Architect

- Produce graphic depictions including perspectives/renderings/photo-realistic renderings from Revit model using Enscape


STANDARDS AND CODES

- Adopt the PRA Working Drawing Checklist and modeling standards through training and assigned tasks

- Assist with research on products, codes and ordinances to determine project compliance to support the project team

- Assist in conducting field measuring and investigations when requested by Project Manager and/or Architect

- Obtain as-built drawings from municipalities or owners


Requirements:

Desired Qualifications/Knowledge:

- Minimum associates degree in Architecture. Bachelors or masters degree preferred

- Willingness to learn required computer applications; Revit, Excel and Word

- Ability to understand construction documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

- Ability to write routine correspondence that is professional, concise and appropriate to the audience

- Ability to present information to and answer questions from the project team

- Willingness to work in a team environment to achieve desired results

- Ability to prioritize time and tasks to meet project deadlines

- Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset

- Listen actively, acknowledge and respond to feedback

Physical Requirements:

Work Environment:

Duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work-related tasks or to attend meetings may be required. Work may be required outside of standard business hours as project needs may require meeting attendance or work be performed in evenings or weekends.
