Job Summary:
The Document Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining and processing engineering change documentation within the company's PLM and ERP systems. This role supports the Engineering team by ensuring that drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, and related documents are accurately updated, filed, and communicated to cross-functional stakeholders in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and compliant processing of Engineering Changes (EC/ECR/ECO)
  • Maintain revision control across ARAS/Oracle and network repositories, and work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain.
  • Review Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) against company standards prior to processing; verify that redlined drawings are attached, formatting requirements are met, and all required items have been logged in the Monday.com project tracking system.
  • Perform final review in Aras PLM to verify completeness and accuracy, including cross-checking assembly BOMs against Oracle BOM records to confirm no discrepancies exist.
  • Draft and distribute notification emails to Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality stakeholders based on completed Travelers; clearly communicate disposition instructions and verification steps required by each group.
  • Update Work Instructions (WIs) that include clear redline markup, ensuring changes are incorporated accurately and the documents are re-released in the PLM system.
  • Photograph engineering units for documentation purposes as required by engineering or quality procedures.
  • Perform document formatting cleanup to align legacy and current documents with corporate and departmental standards.
  • Maintain and reorganize document file structures to match current naming conventions and folder hierarchy standards.
  • Support Mechanical and Electrical Engineering on specials and NPD documentation release.
  • Collaborate daily with India-based documentation support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or higher in Engineering Technology, Technical Writing, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in document control, records management, or administrative/technical support in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience with EC/ECR/ECO processes and PLM/ERP systems (ARAS, Oracle, Arena, SharePoint).
  • Knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOMs) structures and drawing standards (ASME Y14.x).
  • Familiarity with Engineering Change processes (ECR/ECO) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts.
  • Experience working with PLM systems such as Aras, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, or equivalent for BOM updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work across document management tools.
  • Strong written communication skills; ability to compose clear, professional notification emails and procedural instructions.
  • High attention to detail; able to identify inconsistencies.
  • Due to the nature of Intellipower's programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in power electronics, UPS, or high mix engineered to order environments.
  • ISO 9001 QMS experience.
  • Familiarity with wiring diagrams and mechanical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Monday.com or similar project tracking tools.
