Job description

Job Announcement
Producer - Extremism Product ( Contract )
Primary Function:
Producers are the central engine and project "closers" responsible for shepherding the entire content lifecycle of the project, with a focus on finding and booking elite talent in coordination with a global policy-driven narrative. This position bridges Arabic-rooted research into a unified English product, guiding voice, narrative and delivery to produce polished work of authority across platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following tasks are considered essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions:
  • Serves as the day-to-day production lead for the 250th anniversary audio essay series - owns the project timeline, tracks every deliverable, and closes each element on schedule
  • Books and manages all on-camera and voice talent: coordinates scheduling, prepares talent briefs, manages session logistics for narrator and interview recordings
  • Sources and secures archival audio, photography, and visual material - verifies rights and licensing for all third-party content used in the series
  • Coordinates across the full production team - the Researcher/Fact-Checker, Multi-Platform Editor, Lead Video Editor, and Audio Lead - ensuring all workstreams move in parallel and nothing waits on a single bottleneck
  • Manages the relationship between the editorial vision and production reality: flags scope creep, timeline risks, and resource gaps to you and the editorial team early - not after the fact
  • Bridges the Arabic research and sourcing into the English-language product - bilingual fluency or strong familiarity with Arabic-language content is essential here, not optional
  • Integrates AI production tools into the workflow where appropriate - AI-assisted transcription, research aggregation, and content organization - and understands how to prompt and use these tools to accelerate production without compromising editorial quality
  • Delivers a clean production handoff at the close of the project: all files organized, all rights documented, all vendor payments tracked and submitted for processing

Other Duties:
Perform additional job-related duties and take on new responsibilities as needed based on organizational requirements and circumstances.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidates are required to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or broadcast journalism preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in producing digital content.
  • Excellent English and Arabic writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to use video editing system.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment requiring teamwork.
  • Solid news judgment.
  • Ability to work under intense deadline pressure.
  • Exercise self-discipline and time-management skills.
  • Sound editorial and creative judgment is essential.
