Position Overview

GLS is seeking a professional Arabic Consecutive Interpreter to provide onsite interpretation services in Plymouth, Michigan. The interpreter will support effective communication between English-speaking personnel and Arabic-speaking clients in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate consecutive interpretation (Arabic English) during onsite sessions
  • Ensure completeness, neutrality, and cultural accuracy of all interpretations
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and professional standards
  • Arrive on time and maintain professionalism at all times
  • Manage communication flow and request clarification when necessary

Minimum Qualifications

  • Fluency in Arabic and English (required)
  • Proven experience in consecutive interpreting
  • Strong listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information professionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical, legal, or community interpretation
  • National certifications (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI) or equivalent
  • Familiarity with industry-specific terminology
