Job description

Aquinas College, a member of the NAIA, Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) and USA Cheer (STUNT) is seeking an Assistant Cheer & STUNT Coach. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Coach in upholding and promoting the mission of Aquinas College while assisting in building competitive and academically successful Cheer & STUNT programs rooted in integrity, leadership, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

โ— Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the Cheer and STUNT programs, including coaching, recruitment, student-athlete development and competition prep.

โ— Responsible for assisting the Head Coach in meeting the required roster numbers each year by recruiting and retaining student-athletes who align with the values and academic standards of Aquinas College.

โ— Create a meaningful student athlete experience by fostering a positive team culture that emphasizes personal development, academic achievement, sportsmanship, and service.

โ— Assist with the coordination of scheduling of practices, games, and team travel in compliance with college and conference guidelines.

โ— Ensure compliance with NAIA, WHAC, and institutional rules and regulations.

โ— Assist in the coordination of community outreach and contribute to departmental fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives.

โ— Collaborate with campus departments including, but not limited to, Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Athletic Training to support student-athlete success.

โ— Other duties as assigned by Head Coach.

Qualifications:

โ— Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited institution.

โ— Proven experience competing and coaching in the sports of Cheer and STUNT

โ— Demonstrated success in recruiting, leadership, and program development.

โ— Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

โ— Ability to work evenings, weekends and travel as needed.

โ— Commitment to the mission and values of Aquinas College.
