Job description

Aquinas College, a member of the NAIA and the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC), is seeking a part-time Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach who will be responsible for aiding and supporting the Head Men’s Soccer Coach. The ideal candidate will uphold and promote the mission of Aquinas College while assisting in building a competitive and academically successful men’s soccer program rooted in integrity, leadership and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

● Assist the Head Soccer Coach in all aspects of the men’s soccer program, including coaching, recruitment, player development, game preparation, and in-game strategy.

● Responsible for assisting the Head Coach in meeting the required roster numbers on both the varsity and reserve teams by recruiting and retaining student-athletes who align with the values and academic standards of Aquinas College.

● Foster a positive team culture within both the varsity and reserve team that emphasizes personal development, academic achievement, sportsmanship, and service.

● Assist with the coordination of scheduling of practices, games, and team travel in compliance with college and conference guidelines.

● Ensure compliance with NAIA, WHAC, and institutional rules and regulations.

● Other duties as assigned by Head Coach

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

● Proven experience coaching soccer at the collegiate level or equivalent high-level experience.

● Demonstrated success in recruiting, leadership, and program development.

● Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to work evenings, weekends and travel as needed.
