Job description

As an Estimating Lead - you will support APX delivery by leading the development of high-quality, compliant project cost and pricing estimates for proposals and contracts. You will oversee major elements of the estimate, provide input to and support consolidation of detailed Basis of Estimate (BOE) documentation, and ensure understanding across technical, schedule, risk and financial inputs.

You will play a critical role in standardization and continuous improvement within the APX Project & Portfolio Planning organization.

You will report to the Manager, APX Cost Estimating, and work in the Madrid, Spain offices and work in a hybrid capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for cost and price estimating for projects from Feasibility Studies through FEEDs and EPCs.
  • Provide estimate integration leadership during proposal development, fact finding/negotiation, governance and contract award, ensuring clean turnover to execution.
  • Review solicitations and collaborate with proposal functional input teams and PMs on estimating requirements and strategy.
  • Develop cost models and Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for RFPs, proposals, and task orders;
  • Align with Project Delivery & Commercial Integration teams on resource demand, scope, risk, and schedule inputs : coordinate cost volumes and support narrative development, ensuring understanding between technical and cost content.
  • Implement and maintain standard estimating processes, documentation, independent reviews, and audit readiness. Implement process improvements to lead consistency and efficiency.
  • Support team internal expertise and best practices for estimating.
  • Analyze historical cost data and trends to improve estimate accuracy, efficiency and support challenge reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, engineering, project management or a related discipline. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • 5+ years of progressive cost/price estimating experience.
  • Experienced at facilitating discussions, building agreement, and delivering results through stakeholder engagement
