TAT Technologies' Greensboro site serves as the company's Center of Excellence for Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and landing gear MRO services, as well as aircraft component leasing solutions. Supporting commercial and military aircraft operators worldwide, the site provides integrated maintenance and asset management solutions that maximize fleet availability, reduce downtime, and improve operational performance.

TAT Technologies is looking for qualified APU Disassembly Technician. APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) is a turbine engine utilized on the aircraft to provide electrical and pneumatic power during periods when the main engines are not running. The following is a list of job duties that an APU Disassembly Technician will perform:

  • Cleaning and removing paint from parts using chemical paint stripper and blast cabinets.
  • Understand the purpose and scope of each process area, including disassembly, non-destructive testing, machining, inspection, measurement, test, paint, and reassembly.
  • Maintains work areas and tools in a clean and organized manner, practices proper tool and FOD control.
  • Accurately complete work orders, BOMs, data inputs within ERP system.
  • Reads and understands Commercial, FAA, EASA, Repair Station, and ISO documentations and other related materials.
  • Operates, maintains and services specialized equipment.
  • Read and interprets maintenance manuals, or other technical data to determine the feasibility and method to perform the assigned task.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED minimum.
  • Technical school courses in auto or diesel mechanics or machinist classes preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience required and must have a strong aptitude for acquiring new mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant license or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and hand tools appropriate to the assigned tasks.
  • Ability to locate, read and follow the technical data appropriate for the assigned task.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
