A carpenter's duties involve reading blueprints, constructing and repairing frameworks (walls, floors, doors, windows), installing fixtures (doors, cabinets, drywall, trim), performing drywall finishing, assisting with basic electrical, plumbing, and concrete work, operating tools, collaborating with teams, and maintaining a clean job site.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Construct frameworks such as walls, floors, and door/window frames
  • Install structures and fixtures (doors, cabinets, drywall, trim, etc.)
  • Perform drywall installation, finishing, and repairs as needed
  • Assist with or perform basic electrical and plumbing tasks when required
  • Support concrete work including forming, pouring, and finishing
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or structures
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site

Skills & Qualifications 
  • Proven experience as a carpenter or construction worker
  • Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods
  • Working knowledge of drywall installation and finishing
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems (preferred)
  • Experience with concrete work (forming, pouring, finishing) is a plus
  • Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
  • Proficiency with carpentry tools and equipment
  • Solid math and measurement skills
  • Physical stamina and strength (lifting, standing)
  • Attention to detail and craftsmanship quality
  • Trained and experienced in safely operating scissor and boom lifts
  • Trained and experienced in safely operating skid steer
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program (preferred)
  • Trade school or vocational training (a plus)
Physical Requirements
  • Up to 90% travel that will include overnight and weekend travel 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  • May be required to drive for long periods of time
  • Must be able to reach overhead, kneel, stoop, bend, stand and walk
  • Construction sites (indoor and outdoor)
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions
  • May involve heights, heavy lifting, and loud equipment
  • Full-time, often with early mornings or extended hours
