Job Summary:
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. They are currently seeking a Software Engineering Apprentice to join their Engineering team, where the apprentice will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to significant projects and gaining technical mentorship over a 6-month period.
Responsibilities:

• You will ship code and monitor the deployment of your work. Our Apprenticeship projects are not isolated or intended to be thrown away; your team will depend on your contributions.
• We will pair you with a dedicated mentor who will be by your side to give advice and ensure the success of your project. You can expect to meet with them on a regular basis and receive feedback.
• Apprentices will have the opportunity to share their work with the engineering organization upon completion of the program.
• With the support of your team, you will work on tasks that contribute to the team's projects and goals.
• You will work collaboratively and proactively with your team and stakeholders, bringing them along for your work and helping to create visibility and dialog regarding the risks and trade-offs related to your work.
• You will strike the right balance of speed and quality in your work, ensuring that we hit our business goals while protecting our systems from downtime.
• You will contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities.

• Have previously worked on large scale coding projects, including work that you may have done during a bootcamp experience or on your own
• Always excited to learn and thrive in a fast pace environment
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Have sound judgement for working among ambiguity
• Be able to display empathy, humbleness, and kindness
