Job description

The Grand Traverse County Road Commission is looking for CDL - A and CDL-B drivers to work as seasonal road crew.

You will work with a group of dedicated employees to keep Grand Traverse County moving by maintaining a network of roads and bridges. This position is seasonal starting in October - December and works until spring. The Road Commission has many seasonal employees that have been returning to the job year after year. Many of the returning employees have seasonal summer jobs and are looking for work in the winter months. We have well maintained machines and equipment at GTCRC and we hire employees that work together to get the job done!

Primary Schedule - Day Shift; 3rd shift; Must be flexible to work non-traditional hours (often early am hours) as weather permits; including nights, weekends, holidays

Starting Hourly Wage - $25.00, overtime may be required; shift premium for 3rd shift

CDL A or B Required w/ no restrictions

Must be reliable and eager to learn


Job Responsibilities

Operate snow removal trucks to clear roads, parking lots, and other surfaces of snow and ice

Ensure safety for yourself and others by remaining alert and following safety rules

Conduct proper maintenance of all snow removal equipment

Perform other tasks such as tree crew, flagging, patching, and other duties as assigned.
