As a Lineman A1 you will build multiphase energized facilities. Experience required is fourth year first, six months. You will report to the crew Foreman. 

What You'll Do
  • Work on utility poles and fixtures on energized situations
  • Demonstrate proper cover application, handling energized multiphase primary conductors and working around covered multiphase lines
  • Frame transformer banks, rotate three phase secondary/services and troubleshoot overhead lines
  • Read job prints and built to spec
  • Follow safety performance requirements
  • Complete tree trimming, multimeter operations, using line test equipment, cut-outs and reclosures, advanced rigging, line repair with rubber gloves and hot sticks
  • Introduction to substation safety, capacitors and reactors, power transformers, URD troubleshooting and circuit breakers
  • Complete required company training, including safety training
  • Perform Administrative duties as required
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
What You'll Have
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in the electrical powerline industry
  • All the skills required for a Lineman B2
  • Understand basic electricity and proper use, care and maintenance of hot sticks
  • Pass evaluation of competency before promotion and activity in the Apprenticeship Training Program

Work Environment
  • Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
  • All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
  • Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
  • Work is performed within the "red zone" of heavy equipment
  • Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
