ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • Develop technical skills, knowledge of supported product lines, and proficiency in following our policies and procedures.

  • Timely and proper completion of assigned tasks, either individually or under the guidance of a senior Technician.

  • Develop and maintain good customer relations in a manner that exemplifies Rite-Hite's image and commitment to customer service.

  • Compliance with all company policies and safety guidelines.

  • Assist in the installation, inspection, service, and repair of equipment in the field under the direction of a senior Installation Technician. Comfortable working at heights in various weather conditions. May also be assigned to performance planned maintenance and other uninvolved tasks.

  • Complete all required training classes and modules to demonstrate proficiency and understanding.

  • Using the handheld devices (or paper backup forms if needed) accurately complete all necessary paperwork associated with field service, repair and installation including service tickets, time sheets, open job tracking form and safety analysis sheets.

  • Maintain compliance with operation and communication standards as per the Field Technician Handbook.

  • This position requires the operation of truck-based cranes, forklifts, welders, torches, and power and hand tools.

  • Follow all company and customer safety requirements.

  • Follow all customer-specific requirements, policies, and directions on their work sites.

  • Work closely with all other departments in the company, communicating and coordinating activities to efficiently maximize customer satisfaction.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The successful individual will possess:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Prior mechanical, electrical or welding experience helpful but not required.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENT

The ideal individual will demonstrate:

  • Service Technicians must have a valid drivers license

  • Passing DOT medical exam

  • Applicable driver qualification standards at all times.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints & schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will not have supervisory responsibilities.
