Job description

Candela Systems Corporation is currently recruiting for up to 3 Electrical Apprentices for its NYS DOL approved Apprenticeship Program.  If accepted, candidates will work for Candela Systems for 6 months before entering the 60-month program where you will:


-work under the guidance of a professional electrician for up to 8200 hours* to learn the trade, recording these hours worked in a Blue Work Process Booklet provided by the Dept. of Labor Apprenticeship Program.  Project sites are located throughout New York State including NYC, Westchester County, Dutchess County, Putnam County, Albany area plus other locations on the East Coast, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

-attend a minimum of 180 hours of Related Instruction (either in person or online) for each year, resulting in a total of at least 900 hours.  In person “hands on” testing will be required.

To be considered, you . . .

-Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma.

-Must be able to read, hear and understand verbal instructions and warnings given in English.

-Must be willing and able to attend required classes at an approved school.

-Must have reliable means of transportation to and from various job sites and required classes at the approved school.

-Must have a valid NYS drivers license in order to operate company vehicles (physical and drug test required). Proof will be required after selection and prior to enrollment in apprenticeship program.

-Must have OSHA 30 and SST Certifications.

-Some electrical education and/or construction experience is preferred but not required.
