The Department of Finance and Insurance within the College of Business at East Carolina University invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month faculty position beginning August 2027, with the possibility of beginning January 2027. The successful candidate will have instructional responsibilities (3/3) in the Department of Finance and Insurance teaching courses relevant to insurance and/or finance. In coordination with the Director of the Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program, the candidate will be expected to enhance cohesion and synergy among all internal and external stakeholders. The RMI program is very active in terms of experiential learning opportunities and student travel, and the candidate will be expected to regularly participate in those activities. This appointment will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Minimum Education/Experience This appointment requires a PhD or DBA in the teaching field or related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution that satisfies credentialing under SACS guidelines. Candidates with PhD newly conferred at the time of initial appointment will hold the probationary rank of Assistant Professor. ABD candidates will also be initially appointed with the probationary term rank of Assistant Professor and must have the terminal degree conferred prior to their first reappointment. The position requires teaching excellence, strong scholarly productivity, and contribution to experiential learning activities.
For appointment at the Associate Professor rank, requires a minimum of 4 years of university teaching at the Assistant Professor level as well as an established record of research, teaching, and service with extensive publication in peer-reviewed journals.
