Job description

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Plant Planning Services Coordinator located at Beatrice Power Stationin Beatrice, Nebraska. Position closes August 24th, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
This position will report to Beatrice Power Station Facility Manager.
Position Summary
The Plant Planning Services Coordinator will act primarily as a plant planner by supporting the facility work control process. The incumbent will be responsible for creating SAP orders, creating and maintaining integrated schedules and communicating with end-use customers. In addition, the incumbent will perform and manage all administrative functions required for the plant, including creating and maintaining operational reports, performing duties with the company software to ensure efficient operations of the office and employee services issues.
Education, Training and Experience
Associates degree in a business or technical field and two years' experience as described in below OR graduate of a business or technical training program and four years of experience as described below OR high school/GED and five years' experience as described below.
Demonstrated proficiency with automated planning, scheduling, and project management tools is required. Demonstrated broad based understanding of work management processes and overall integration of NPPD's key enabling processes is required. Three years as an Administrative Assistant or Office Manager is desirable.
Note: Other work experience or demonstrated performance indicating that the applicant has the skills and ability to perform the required duties may be substituted for the specific years of experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Schedule maintenance activities using the PaSTA scheduling software and ensure Preventive Maintenance task lists are revised and current. Revise BPS maintenance instruction documents/procedures as necessary based on feedback from plant technicians. Develop, review, and revise work management guidelines, standards, and task lists. Assist in the directing of the work closing process.
Develop, screen, and prepare plant reports and correspondence for the plant. This includes preparing documents for the operating and maintenance staff as directed. The incumbent shall have sufficient understanding of plant operations to create reports with minimal instruction provided.
Maintain proficiency in all plant software to include but not limited to: SAP, electronic Shift Operations Management System (eSOMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and others as necessary. The incumbent shall also be proficient in the use of the Distributed Control System (DCS) plant historian to enable creation of reports.
Set up and maintain the plant filing and data storage system for the plant. The incumbent shall act as administrator for all BPS SharePoint and team websites, as well as security administrator responsible for authorizing and revoking badge access, visitor access, assigning individuals to access groups. The incumbent shall assist in troubleshooting issues with the security system as required.
Perform Manager role functions within the online MSDS database/E-Binder.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.
Pay Grade - 9
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $4,589.00 - $5,736.00
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.

Retirement Savings
NPPD employees may participate in two retirement plan options - a 401(k) plan and a 457(b) plan. Both plans allow for pre-tax or Roth contributions. After the first six months of employment, the 401(k) plan includes a generous matching contribution from NPPD. The five-year vesting period begins on an employee's hire date. Our retired employees are eligible for retiree healthcare benefits as well as a life benefit paid out to designated beneficiaries upon their passing.
