Are you an experienced 2nd Pressman / Feeder looking to advance your career with a stable, growing company? We're seeking a motivated team player to join our pressroom and work alongside skilled Lead Pressmen producing high-quality printed packaging products. If you have experience with offset, flexographic, or gravure printing and enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.

As a 2nd Pressman / Feeder, you'll play a critical role in press setup, production, quality control, and equipment maintenance while gaining valuable experience and opportunities for career growth.

Shift:2nd, hours 3:00pm to 11:30pm

What You'll Do
  • Review job orders, department instructions, proofs, save sheets, and production specifications before each job.
  • Assist with press setup by installing and removing printing plates, blankets, and coating blankets.
  • Pack plate and blanket cylinders according to machine and paperboard specifications.
  • Set and adjust side guides, head stops, gripper fingers, and double-sheet detectors.
  • Monitor fountain solution conductivity and maintain proper fountain tank levels.
  • Monitor and replenish offset powder, inks, coatings, and fountain solutions throughout production.
  • Retrieve, install, and return inks and printing plates as required.
  • Wash ink units, blankets, cylinders, and fountain tanks between jobs.
  • Operate and set up scanning densitometers to verify print quality.
  • Assist the Lead Pressman in evaluating product quality and identifying non-conforming materials.
  • Help perform preventative maintenance, roller changes, and minor equipment repairs.
  • Remove finished product from the press and transport it to designated staging areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
  • Assist in training Press Apprentices.
  • Provide coverage for the Lead Pressman during breaks when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Strong color vision and accurate color discrimination.
  • Comfortable performing basic math, including fractions and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience operating a multi-color offset, flexographic, or gravure printing press, or working as a 2nd Pressman / Feeder or Assistant Pressman on a multi-color offset press crew.
  • Experience with 4-color process printing preferred.
  • Mitsubishi press experience is a plus.
  • Experience with blanket changes, cylinder packing, press wash-up, and fountain systems preferred.
  • Experience with paperboard, UV inks, in-line coating, and scanning or handheld densitometry is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to inspect product quality throughout production.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.
