Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform service and repair work on commercial heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems. Including but not limited to boilers, air-handling equipment, chilled water systems, hot water systems, DX systems, exhaust systems, and other HVAC equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems in commercial buildings, including schools, hospitals, industrial facilities, offices, universities, laboratories, and data centers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC components and equipment.
  • Promote North American Mechanical, Inc.'s services through ongoing customer interactions, communications, assurance, and support.
  • Prepare pertinent information and written documentation, including work reports, timecards, material orders, and other required documentation, using NAMI's operating system.
  • Maintain responsibility for customer satisfaction and support a team-oriented approach within the NAMI Service Department.
  • Build and maintain solid professional relationships with clients, vendors, coworkers, outside professionals, and others contacted on behalf of the organization.
  • Performs other HVAC duties as assigned by supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Working conditions can vary from site to site. Work both indoors and outdoors is required.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, squat, stoop, and kneel.
  • Considerable walking, standing, bending, reaching, grasping, flexing arms, wrists, hands and fingers, and turning torso and head may also be required.
  • Must be able to maneuver and climb ladders.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, their operation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Minimum of an associate's degree or completion of an HVAC apprenticeship, and/or 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC mechanical service.
  • EPA-certified refrigerant recovery certification required
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to clearly communicate technical knowledge and capabilities related to commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Must have a valid Driver License.
