Position Summary:

Assist Electrician to install and repair electrical wiring, fixture, and equipment while using the proper safety procedures. Gather tools and supplies to be used at the work site. Measure, cut and bend wire and conduit using ruler and hand tools. Drill holes for wiring, using power drill, and pulls or pushes wiring through opening. Traces short circuits in wiring, using knowledge of wiring and test meter. Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduits, and motors. Performs minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches using hand tools.

Requirements:

  • Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
  • Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the job site, inspectors, customers, and the public.
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds of conduit or wire, work raising both arms overhead while standing on ladders or aerial lifts to install conduit, lighting fixtures, safely use hand tools and power tools.
  • Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment.

  • Work is primarily performed both indoor and outdoor environments in all/extreme weather conditions.
  • This position requires physical activity including extended periods of standing and walking, frequent sitting, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping and climbing.
  • Requires the ability to frequently lift and/or carry materials and/or supplies and other materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasional lifting and/or carrying of materials and/or supplies weighing up to 100 lbs.
