Job description

Position Summary:

Drive trucks to & from job sites, unload structural members of tower & electrical hardware from trucks. Assist in the installation, maintenance, & repair of streetlights, traffic signals, power lines, and related facilities. Also responsible for assisting with digging trenches, placing underground conduits and junction boxes, tamping and restoring trench areas, digging and pouring concrete for pole foundations, and embedding loop detectors. May trim trees & clear undergrowth along right-of-way. Must be able to work safely around trenchers, backhoes, track hoes, plows, line trucks, bucket trucks, bobcat loaders, etc. Transport equipment to & from job sites safely. Assist the crew on the ground to complete work orders safely and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL and current valid DOT physical required.
  • Previous signal/lighting experience a plus.
  • Good knowledge and experience safely operating construction equipment.
  • Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
  • Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the jobsite, inspectors, customers, and the public.
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
