The MBT Mechanic Apprentice position is responsible for completing various assignments such as installing, maintaining, repairing, dismantling, and reassembling machinery in an industrial setting. This is a 2nd shift position with the schedule of 4:00pm-2:00am Monday-Thursday.

Key Responsibilities Work closely with Master Mechanics to ensure efficient operation of equipment and systems Install, maintain, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, and other equipment Maintain compliance with safety rules, for example lock out, tag out, and arc flash Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of building equipment and systems Troubleshoot and repair problems with building systems and equipment Assist with the installation of new equipment and systems Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and building codes Participate in training sessions and other learning opportunities to improve skills and knowledge Assist with maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored Perform maintenance related general cleanup of facilities as needed Maintain a clean and safe working environment All other duties as assigned Qualifications 3+ years of machine operation and/or industrial machine maintenance experience Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced Journeymen Ability to work a regular schedule, which may include weekends and holidays Ability to and knowledge in operating small hand power tools Ability to follow established procedures and protocols for completing tasks Ability to work 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week, this can increase to 16 hours depending on process conditions Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or certificate in a related field Prior experience working in facilities maintenance or a related field Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes 1 year or more papermill experience Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to climb ladders and do overhead work Must be able to bend, squat, and complete tasks on the floor Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time Ability to operate hand and power tools for extended periods of time Official Contact Information Email: All official emails will come from an @Swisher.com address Website: Verify job listings and contact details on https://careers.swisher.com Important: We will never contact you via Teams, Zoom, or Google Meets.
